next generation of scientists who can undertake this research will require more diverse course

Systems biology approaches, large-scale genetic screens, metagenomics of host and

will produce enormous amounts of information that will challenge our capacity to integrate it1 U! l5 Q2 E5 [, ^7 C: [4 i
into useful conceptual frameworks. Imaging technology will reveal the dynamics of
6 d5 W& D* K+ Y8 Gbiological interactions at every level, yet produce huge sets of data that strain current systems
^# a4 Q2 m9 }# y# jfor information storage and retrieval. Methods to search, screen, recover, and use this
. `4 J/ A, o$ m, linformation will provide new avenues for discovery and require a new generation of8 j- B: W w0 |5 T1 h4 O1 C
virologists with special expertise in computational methods and information technology. |
