unsuited for readers who desired an introduction to the

# c9 K. r/ e) V4 fversion that could be used as an introductory text or for

1 S' T4 f2 P1 n) ]" GAn introductory text clearly benefits from the1 b+ l$ l* C5 s, e' c" M0 ?
coherence provided by a single author, but suffers from
$ U# i( e1 m3 N. p3 L3 qthe finite expertise of any single researcher. Therefore, a
2 d3 | y2 }1 h- Z* g+ Pcompromise was devised, in which each chapter was coauthored% z" X5 D* A x4 `1 F( r- t
by an expert in the specific area under consideration.
; ]9 x. a9 s D4 @: j% t" rThis strategy was facilitated by the successful- ~% I9 y9 _8 x5 x2 c, h
collaborations that had been developed during the
